About Havana Bar

Havana Bar turns a pair of historic Wigan Street cottages into Te Aro’s moodiest evening hideaway for Peruvian tapas and pisco cocktails. Sharing digs with Fidel’s Café by morning—where expertly pulled cappuccinos meet fried chicken waffles—the venue transforms when darkness settles. Tables fill quickly with rounds of tangy snapper ceviche, charred octopus, and smoky beef skewers, backed by genuine warmth from floor staff who navigate dietary restrictions without missing a step. Regulars know about the hidden bookshelf door concealing the restroom, best visited before settling in for a tart pisco sour and creamy Suspiro Limeño.

  • Daytime Café Crossover: Mornings share space with Fidel's Café for pulled flat whites, breakfast burritos, and crisp chicken waffles.
  • Peruvian Tapas & Pisco: Evenings pivot to Peruvian-inspired tapas, from fresh snapper ceviche and charred octopus to Suspiro Limeño paired with authentic Peruvian pisco cocktails.
  • Hidden Bookshelf Door: Tucked behind a disguised bookcase door, the quirky restroom adds a playful, speakeasy touch to the historic cottage setting.
  • Seamless Dietary Customization: A dedicated printed allergen menu and kitchen flexibility ensure multi-course banquets adapt effortlessly to dietary restrictions.
